Heat your Home Safely this Winter!
To keep warm, people turn to either heaters… whether you use
a gas or electrical heater you need to know how to heat your home safely…
-- Keep all children, pets and any flammable materials at
least a metre away from the heater at all times.
-- Always make sure your heater is placed on a stable
surface, and away from anything that can knock it over.
-- Inspect the heater’s cords to ensure that they are not
damaged or worn.
-- Use the right fuel or you will most likely cause a fire!
-- Look for the safety logo on the back of the heater to
make sure it is safety certified.
-- Teach everyone in your house how to use the heater
properly.
-- Never use your heater in rooms where there is moisture,
this means rooms such as the bathroom and the kitchen.
-- Always turn the heater off when you leave the room or go
to sleep.
Using a heater is a great way to keep warm, BUT if they are
not used in the right way they can also cause serious safety hazards!
