Making sure your car is roadworthy

Keeping yourself safe as well as your passengers is an important part of driving, but as a vehicle owner you need to fix or replace all of the following before you head out on the road:

> Stay focused and be aware of what is happening on the road
> NEVER pick up hitchhikers, no matter how friendly they may seem
> Avoid driving at night
> If you have to drive on backroads, be careful of potholes
> Share the driving responsibility with the other people travelling with you
> Always keep the correct distance between you and the driver in front of you
> If you start to feel tired, pull over somewhere safe, take a break and stretch your legs
