4 Easy ways to stay safe in Heavy Traffic
Did you know that most accidents happen
during rush hour traffic? When it comes down to it, the sheer volume of cars on
the road, people rushing unnecessarily and increased distracted driving means
it is a dangerous time to be driving.
Here are 4 easy ways to stay safe if you
are driving in heavy traffic…
1 – Leave enough space. Highway congestion
can be easily solved by simply allowing other vehicles to merge into other
lanes. All you need to do is leave enough space and signal that it is fine to
merge into your lane.
2 – Do not jump lanes. Some people believe
that the best way to get out of a traffic jam is to change lanes, but this isn’t
always the best solution. Choose the path with the least resistance – it could
be your lane.
3 – Stay calm at all times. Traffic happens
and there is nothing you can do about it, so there is no point in getting
frustrated and angry. Do not give in to your urges to be hostile towards other
drivers – you’re not the only one that is late.
4 – Stay focused. When the traffic is
heavy, many of us get distracted and let our minds wander off… Do not get distracted
by your cell phone or other things, focus on your driving and be safe!
Road conditions are out of your control;
however you can control how you drive when you are in those conditions! Use
these 4 easy tips and you’ll stay safe in heavy traffic.
