1. The Bump. The criminals will bump the back of your vehicle from behind. You’ll get out of your car to see the damage and exchange information. It is then that the criminals will steal your car.

2. Good Samaritan. The attackers will stage an accident and pretend to be injured. You will stop your car and get out to help them, the criminals will use this time to take your vehicle.

3. The Ruse. The vehicle behind you flashes their lights or waves to try get your attention. They’ll probably pretend that there is a problem with their car. When you pull over and get out the car they’ll steal it.

4. The Trap. Carjackers will often follow you home. When you pull into your driveway and get out the car or while you’re waiting for the gate to open, they’ll block you from behind and steal your car.
