SA is fighting Crime this Festive Season

The police in South Africa have decided to be on full alert this December. No criminals or lawbreakers will be tolerated, with this in mind; more and more members of SAPS are being stationed in and around the popular crime hotspots.

2 000 police students, 13 000 metro police and 32 000 members of the SAPS will cover all the areas in Gauteng that are often seen as problem zones. These areas include certain malls and suburbs.

Police members will make themselves visible in the shopping malls as well as conduct multiple foot patrols, hold road blocks throughout the country and coordinate search operations.

Even though the police will be on guard this festive season, you should always be aware – never walk around with large sums of money as you may be targeted by criminals.
