How to Deal with your Nosy Neighbours

Someone constantly sticking their nose in your business can be one of the most annoying things on earth. Every time you make a move they are listening in on your conversations or watching you from afar.

But what are you supposed to do about it? Here are some helpful suggestions...

IGNORE THEM

Some nosy neighbours are just interested in getting some attention from you, not in what’s going on in your life. If you notice your neighbour watching you just ignore them and they’ll soon get bored and hopefully leave you alone.

DROP HINTS

If you ever strike up a conversation with your neighbour, drop subtle hints that you have noticed their behaviour. Tell them that other neighbours have been talking about seeing someone staring through their window. This may get them to back off.

BLOCK THEM

Build a fence or a wall around your property to gain back some privacy. If you feel that this method is too extreme for you, rather just plant some tall bushes in-between your yards or in front of your windows.

BE STRANGE

You know that your neighbour likes to watch everything that you do, so give them something interesting to see! Do something completely crazy like climb the tree in your backyard and pretend to be a monkey, meditate on your roof in the nude or throw a tea party with your children’s dolls. Hopefully your strangeness will make them feel uncomfortable enough to leave you alone.

CONFRONT THEM

When things go too far and your neighbour just won’t give in, then this is the last resort. Confront them and let them know that you’ve seen them listening in on your conversations and watching everything that you do. Tell them that you don’t appreciate it and if they don’t back off you’ll get the authorities involved.
